In order to help you to understand the affiliate marketing correctly, we drew a scheme below. Let’s explore it step-by-step.

There are three parties participated in the Affiliate programmes:

Merchant
Affiliate partner (in our case it is you)
Your website’s users.

The process has several steps:

Merchant places the announcement about affiliate programme, published all the conditions
Affiliate partner, then, generate a unique affiliate link
Affiliate partner placed this link on his sources (the site)
A customer makes an order
Affiliate partner gets his commission.

There are several payments forms: per sale, per lead, or per click.

How to create the affiliate store using WooCommerce?

A lot of stores run with self-hosted WordPress.org. It is easy to use, moreover, there are a lot of customizable plugins and options. WooCommerce is one of them. So, the first thing you need to do in order to create an online store with affiliate products is to install and activate it. There are only 3 steps:

Find the WooCommerce plugin
Download it to your plugins directory
Activate plugin.

After that, return to the Plugins and find a WooBeWoo Product Table plugin. Repeat all the steps described above, and let’s move on.

Create the affiliate product

WooCommerce has one unique feature: you need to prepare your products in advance before using them in the Product table. Users can make it in two ways:

Create them manually
Import from a CSV file.

Choose the most appreciable option for you. We will create the product manually. After clicking Add new button, you will see the opened window with empty fields.

The first block is a standard. Type here product title and description.

Then, go to the next block – Product data. And now attention! There is what distinguish affiliate products from the other. In the Product type field, select External/Affiliate product.

What is the External/Affiliate product?

External/affiliate product is a great way to add the products on your site that customers can purchase on another merchant site. Utilizing this scheme, you can easily make some extra income. The outside site takes care of all the conditions: logistics, inventory, tax, and customer service.

How to set up an External/Affiliate product?

In the Product data block, simply select the External/Affiliate product from the drop-down menu.

Add the external URL to the product
Write the button text
Set the price.

Next, you need to fill other tabs:

Inventory
Linked Products

Attributes

Advanced.

After that, write the Short Product description, and Publish it.
